Supporting Our Community

Supporting our community

Iceland has a presence in nearly 900 communities throughout the UK. Our core Iceland stores trade mainly on the high street, while those under The Food Warehouse fascia are located principally on retail parks.

Over the last eight years we have opened more than 230 net new stores in the UK, creating many thousands of new jobs, and often helping to regenerate high streets and communities in the process. There has been no more striking example of this than the opening during our financial year to March 2010 of more than 70 new stores, 50 of which were converted from redundant Woolworths outlets.

We aim to create a real family atmosphere in our stores, with a commitment to helpful, friendly service that extends into our customers’ homes through our unique home delivery service.  This is especially valued by families without access to a car for shopping, and by the elderly.

All our 22,000 employees have the opportunity to participate in voluntary charitable activities during working hours without loss of pay.

Our Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation has raised more than £20 million for good causes since 2005, and you can read more about its work here: http://www.ifcf.org.uk/
